"Sorrow"

This is a sculpture of my own design, hyper-real style of which I hope to do more of.

It started out as doodles on paper before being sketched on the computer. Once the basic idea was finalised, the head was sculpted in water based clay. This was moulded and cast in silicone, along with the hand, which were then painted in a number of washes to simulate real skin.

Custom eyes were made, and hair implanted for her scalp, eye brows and lashes.

The headdress was then fashioned from oil based clay around a fibreglass copy of the head sculpture. Once happy, it was moulded and cast in epoxy, carbon fibre and steel for strength. It then had a chrome finish applied, before being overcoated in a clear blue/purple coat.

This was then bonded to an aluminium base, and the whole thing assembled.

It stands 95cm tall
